The Craig Willinger Fund honors soccer fans, ages 10 to 25, with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see their favorite team – domestic or international – play on their home pitch or another unique soccer venue.
To fulfill the dreams of soccer fans with cancer.
History of the Craig Willinger Fund
The Craig Willinger Fund (CWFund) was created in 2009 by Craig, his family, and new friends from the Liverpool Supporters Club to show young soccer fans fighting cancer that dreams and amazing experiences can be part of their future. CWFund immediately began raising funds to send their first honoree, Kathryn Hudson of Clarksville, MD, and her father to FIFA’s World Cup in South Africa and have honored two other soccer fans with trips to Barcelona and Milan.
On February 15, 2012, our founder and inspiration, Craig Willinger, passed away from complications related to a bone marrow transplant. Craig’s dream of delivering hope and inspiration to young soccer fans living with cancer was, and remains, the inspiration and mission of the Craig Willinger Fund. This dream will live on through his family, friends, soccer fans, and CWFund honorees united by the knowledge that the Beautiful Game can fuel inspiration, passion, determination, and love.
