The Jermain Defoe Foundation has been founded by Tottenham Spurs and England striker Jermain Defoe to support homeless, vulnerable and abused young people in his family’s home country of St Lucia.
What they do:
The Jermain Defoe Foundation works with the St. Lucia government and other organizations who provide support for youth. This includes Holy Family Children’s Home, the only dedicated children’s home on the whole island, which assists vulnerable children ranging from babies to teenagers.
Future plans include:
- Raising funds to construct a second children’s home in order to provide care to more youth.
- Establish a football academy in St Lucia to develop young talent and help players reach their full potential both on and off the pitch.
